Happy World Nutella Day!
Today, February 5, 2009, is World Nutella Day! Check it out at the Ms Adventures in Italy, Bleeding Espresso, and World Nutella Day websites! People all around the world are celebrating this sweet treat today.
So I decided to come up with a fun and easy recipe involving Nutella that would be easy for all of my readers to make: Nutella Croissants! Dear readers, if you’ve ever seen the movie Sleepless in Seattle, you’ll know why we call this combination MFEO – Nutella and croissants were Made For Each Other!!! They turned out to be soooo delicious – no surprise considering Nutella is involved. Flaky, tender, buttery croissants with that rich, gooey, hazelnut-chocolate pillow hidden on the inside. We had them for dessert, but they would also be a wonderful addition to brunch, or just a tea time snack!
For even more Nutella-fun, check out my Dawg Ball Cookies – they are seriously Nutellicious!
1 tube Pillsbury “big ‘n’ fluffy” crescent rolls
6 heaping tablespoons of Nutella
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray and set aside.
Open the tube of crescent rolls, and unroll and separate your triangles of dough. Place 1 heaping tablespoon full of Nutella at the base of each triangle.

Now you tell me. Pillsbury just finished accepting recipes for the 2010 bakeoff. The crescent rolls were among the eligible ingredients. You could have added some chopped nuts for the second eligible product. Remember this for the 2112 contest. You may have a winner.

My girlfriend learned a recipe in high school where you filled croissant rolls (the big & flaky kind are the best) with chocolate; she loved it. So, when we started dating and she found out how much I loved nutella, she decided to try the same chocolate+croissant roll delight but combine it with nutella! To this day, she makes this treat constantly for me! We have it like every weekend! I’ve affectionately termed them “Nutella Bombs” because she tends to make mine exploding with nutella! I’m glad to find the sweet treat she invented for me has other analogues! =] MAKE THESE. YOU WON’T REGRET IT!

I WAS very excited to learn more about this recipe of yours, then I got even more excited when I saw your profile description saying you have a passion to bake from scratch, then my excitement hit rock bottom when the first line I read said “1 tube Pillsbury “big ‘n’ fluffy” crescent rolls”.
